Corners Crisps launch in WHSmith

Corners have launched in over 300 WHSmith stores. The listing in WHSmith, within their travel locations, has introduced eight new SKU’s across their 28g and 85g range into the snacking and meal deal fixtures: Pop Corn Sea Salt, Pop Corn Sweet and Salty, Pop Veggie Sea Salt, Pop Veggie Sea Salt and Balsamic, Pop Protein Sweet Barbecue and Pop Protein Cheddar & Onion.

Having had a strong five months with Sainsbury’s with their sharing bags, Corners are looking forward to making their pop snack even more readily available to customers by introducing a 28g to the convenience market.

WHSmith will be the first listing to bring Corners’ Pop Veggie crisps to the UK on a large, nationwide scale. Pop Veggie crisps are made with real veggies and are packed with lots of goodness! The Sea Salt variant is made from peas, corn and black beans, whilst the Sea Salt and Balsamic variant is made from peas, beets and chickpeas.

Corners crisps are delicious, innovative and gluten-free popped snacks that bring all the best aspect of popcorn, without the kernels or messy bits! All of the crisps are popped rather than fried, low in saturated fat and contains no artificial preservatives, colours or flavours. Five of the six flavours are dairy free and the protein varieties contain a minimum 25g protein per 100g.

The ‘better for you’ market is worth £105 Million in the UK and shows no sign of slowing down in the near future. This segment is made up mainly of repeat customers with purchase frequency increasing year on year. Corners plans to become a key player in this segment by providing delicious, exciting snacks that challenge the existing market and, by gaining new listings, to increase accessibility for our customers.

The June launch is being supported by a nationwide, integrated marketing campaign – Explore All Corners. As they are launching in WHSmith’s travel locations, they are encouraging customers to ‘explore all corners’ this summer, discovering new places, whether that be in UK or abroad. This campaign with be supported by social media, PR and influencer activity.

Corners will be attending tradeshows such as Lunch! and Speciality Fine Food Fair later this year. In addition, Corners will be attending consumer facing events throughout 2019, including BBC Good Food later this month.

Pack sizes are 28g and 85g, and will be part of the product offering in the WHSmith meal deal. Available now from select WHSmith stores
