Waitrose & Partners report that its new vegan party food range is proving popular with customers with sales up 20%% since its launch in October.
Sales of the newly launched vegan canapés Jackfruit tacos’ and ‘Butternut Squash’age Rolls’ are proving particularly popular, as is the Beet Wellington – a vegan take on Beef Wellington.
The supermarket has reported that the search for ‘Christmas vegan’ on their website is up by 225% compared to this time last year.
In response to growing demand from shoppers looking to eat vegan and vegetarian meals, Waitrose & Partners increased its vegan offering by 233% in 2018 to cater to their needs. The supermarket also increased its vegan and vegetarian dishes on Waitrose Entertaining to make parties easier for customers to cater for vegans and vegetarians.
From Courgette Pizza Crusts and Porcini Mushroom Powder to vegan cheese and ready meals- vegan and vegetarian products are growing in popularity with shoppers across Britain, regardless of whether they follow a strict vegan diet or not. 21% of people now identify as ‘flexitarian’ according to research by Waitrose & Partners in this year’s annual Food & Drink Report.
